Tourist Information

Sport is respect, commitment, and responsibility. With that same philosophy, the Mallorca Women’s Championships aims to raise awareness among visitors and participants about the importance of taking care of the island that hosts us, so that future generations may also enjoy this unique place.

Nature
The protection of the natural environment is essential. Mallorca is home to beaches of great ecological value, the Serra de Tramuntana—recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and marine ecosystems of extraordinary richness. Preserving them requires respect from all visitors. Taking care of the spaces we visit, avoiding litter on beaches and trails, refraining from extracting sand or natural elements, and sticking to designated paths are all gestures that help safeguard this shared heritage.

Use resources responsibly
Water in Mallorca is a scarce resource, making it essential to moderate consumption through short showers and avoiding waste. The same applies to energy: switching off lights, electrical devices, and air conditioning when not in use requires minimal effort yet has a significant positive impact. Choosing accommodations and services with sustainability certifications further contributes to more efficient and respectful resource use.

Sustainable mobility
Whenever possible, walking, cycling, or using public transportation are ways to reduce one’s environmental footprint. When a vehicle is needed, electric or hybrid options allow visitors to enjoy the island in a more responsible way, helping to protect air quality and reduce emissions.

Support local economy
Enjoying Mallorcan gastronomy, opting for local products in markets and restaurants, and supporting island artisans strengthen the local economy while offering visitors a more authentic experience. Avoiding imitation or mass-produced items and choosing souvenirs crafted by local producers is another way to generate a positive and lasting impact.

Respect the community
Mallorca is a place with a strong cultural identity and great linguistic richness. Showing interest in its traditions, engaging with residents courteously, and avoiding disruptive behaviors—such as excessive noise during nighttime hours—are simple actions that convey respect and appreciation for the community that welcomes us.

In tennis, every point counts, and in sustainability, it is no different: each individual gesture, no matter how small, contributes to collective care. With this spirit, the tournament seeks to be an example of how sport and sustainability can go hand in hand. Together, we can ensure that Mallorca remains a unique place to enjoy tennis, nature, and the hospitality of its people—because with small actions, every visitor can make a difference.
