Sunny start in Santa Ponça and Magaluf as qualifying action begins
Under sunny skies, fans enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere across both venues, with competitive matches on court and plenty of fun in the children’s activity zone at Mallorca Country Club.
On court, Carole Monnet (FRA) defeated Germany’s Maxine Kammerer 6-0, 6-0, while Aneta Kucmova (CZE) overcame Tea Kovacevic (BIH) 6-2, 6-4. Serbia’s Teodora Kostovic beat local wildcard Mireia Sagristà Bermejo 6-3, 6-1, with the young Mallorcan showing great fighting spirit in front of her home crowd.
Mallorca’s Yvonne Cavallé-Reimers battled hard but fell to Italy’s Dalila Spiteri 6-0, 7-5, staging a strong comeback in the second set that nearly forced a decider. Other results included Ekaterina Kazionova (RUS) defeating Min Liu (CHN) 6-0, 6-1, and Yelyzaveta Kotliar (UKR) overcoming Tessa Johanna Brockmann (GER) 6-3, 6-1.
Sunday, October 5, will feature the final qualifying round alongside the opening matches of the main draw. On the Mallorca Country Club Centre Court, play begins at 10:00 a.m. with Carole Monnet (FRA) facing Aneta Kucmova (CZE), followed by Fanny Norin (SWE) against Dalila Spiteri (ITA). Not before 2:00 p.m., the main draw officially gets underway as Argentina’s María Lourdes Carlé, the No. 8 seed, meets Barbora Palicova (CZE).
At Magaluf, also from 10:00 a.m, qualifying finals include Yelyzaveta Kotliar (UKR) vs Mina Hodzic (GER) and Teodora Kostovic (SRB) vs Ekaterina Kazionova (RUS).
